Reading distance beats chart density
If the room stands three metres from the wall, your sparkline gallery is already failing.
Leadership rooms in Malaysia often inherit dashboard habits meant for a laptop at fifty centimetres. The wall does not forgive that.
Measure the room
Tape the standing line where people actually gather. Design type and chart height for that distance, then check again from the doorway.
Cut series, not font size
When space gets tight, remove a series before shrinking labels below readability. A single clear line beats four polite ones.
Print a cheap proof
We still print an A0 draft on plotter paper and tape it up for a day. Comments written on the paper are harsher — and more useful — than comments in a slide review.
